The asset tracking department of Focus Investigations received information about an empty lot located between buildings in a sought-after city in the center of the country. In a preliminary investigation conducted by the department’s staff, it was learned that the lot was purchased before World War II by a Jewish citizen of Poland.

The evaluation of the work of the inspection team was that the buyer of the lot perished in the Holocaust, along with the majority of Polish Jewry, and if there are any heirs, they are not aware of the existence of the lot.
Since the last name was not particularly common, the property tracing department began to build family trees of several families in Israel bearing the same name, when the goal was to locate family members – legal heirs of the lot.

After research, the researchers came to an elderly man with the same name and told that in the 1950s there was a socialite, a young bachelor, who immigrated from Poland after the war alone and lived in Tel Aviv.
By scanning press clippings from the 1950s, the researchers located a newspaper article reporting on celebrities of that decade. One of them was Shimon Rudi and his partner, a lady with the same last name as the owner of the lot, who left Israel for Europe.

Shimon Rudi was known as Rudi the “iron bender”, a thug who demonstrated an impressive ability to bend building iron in the streets of Tel Aviv – an entertainment show of that time.
The same Shimon Rudi stars in the song “The Neighborhood” by Haim Hefer performed by the Roosters “Go and call Jim and Udi Aharleh and Shimon Rudi”.

The team of investigators began looking for Shimon Rudi in Europe and from there found that he left Europe for Brazil, where he died in the seventies.
After further investigation, the team of investigators in Brazil located Rudy’s partner, the daughter of the owner of the lot, a woman over 80 years old who lives in Brazil and is the legal heir of the lot.

A sports day was held at one of the hi-tech companies in the Sharon region. The girls of the company chat among themselves about fashion and during the conversation it is revealed that the girls fired the housekeepers because a pair of shoes disappeared from their house. Since these are analytical women, it was immediately hypothesized that there is a connecting thread between the cases.
The facts began to be examined a little more deeply and it became known that this is a phenomenon and several other women in the company experienced the loss of shoes from their home. They contacted the CEO of the company and told about the strange coincidence.

The operations department of Focus Investigations was given responsibility for the investigation. The investigators of the operations department discovered in the interrogation of the facts that the shoes disappeared from their homes without signs of an explosion. The conclusion was that the shoes disappeared by someone who duplicated the keys to the female employees’ apartments and broke into their house when he knew they were not there.

During the process of gathering information, the team of investigators cross-referenced dozens of testimonies and arrived at a suspect: a company employee, a talented and respected engineer, married and holding a prestigious position in an IDF intelligence unit.
In order to check the suspicion, we put Ronit, one of the researchers in the office, to work in the company as a secretary. Before she started working, the people of the technological array installed a hidden camera above her work station and the investigators of the operations department watched the video footage in real time from a nearby office.

A day after Ronit started working at the company, D. contacts her and with a sophisticated investigation tries to “fish” her address.

Another day passes and during the lunch break, Focus Investigations investigators notice that D. approaches Ronit’s desk, takes her bunch of keys and quickly leaves the company’s offices. Three operatives who were waiting in a nearby parking lot started tracking D. and recorded him driving quickly to the city center and duplicating the keys to Ronit’s apartment. The surveillance teams continued to record D’s activities until he returned to the company’s offices – where the video cameras recorded him returning the bunch of keys to Ronit’s desk.

At the end of the work day, the new secretary left the office and the tracking team was surprised to find D. quickly leaving the company’s offices, getting into his car and starting to follow the new secretary in his car, even though he already had her address. He is unaware that three surveillance teams from the Operations Focus Investigations Department are following him. We asked Ronit to stop at a gas station and we held our meeting in the stairwell of the apartment that was rented for her and where sophisticated photography equipment was installed.

At this point, the followers noticed that D quickly leaves the gas station and drives towards Ronit’s rented apartment. Surveillance teams that were waiting near the apartment and in the covered stairwell noticed D. going up to her apartment with the adapted key, while wearing a helmet.

At this point, the investigators of the operations department of Focus had no choice and they detained D. in the apartment until the police arrived. D. was arrested by the police and in a search of his house the police discovered a cache of about 250 pairs of women’s shoes. Another investigation file was successfully closed.

Olga, a fake name immigrated from Russia with her husband at the beginning of the last century, the couple had no children and no relatives in Israel. The couple traded gold from a store on Allenby Street in Tel Aviv, accumulated capital and purchased over ten apartments in Tel Aviv. In the 1950s, A’s husband died and she inherited all his property and lived alone in northern Tel Aviv. A. Galamuda died in the seventies. All of her large property has been managed since her death by the general guardian, since she did not leave a will and no legal heirs were known.

Several years ago, a team of Focus Investigations began investigating the case. A comprehensive search was made for the deceased’s heirs and a sole heir, a relative, was discovered. The heir did not know the couple due to the generation gap, but according to law he is the heir. After a referral from Focus Investigations, a request was submitted to the Family Court and the subject is in the process of verifying that he is indeed the sole heir.

But suddenly a will appeared…

During searches for heirs of Georgian immigrants, a Tel Aviv lawyer contacted a Georgian immigrant and asked him for assistance in gathering information in the community. In a casual conversation, the lawyer told about A and her large property. A short time later a handwritten will appeared, bearing a date several years earlier than A’s death in which she bequeaths all her property to the son of the maker of the will. Signatures of two “witnesses” were found on the will. The beneficiary of the will went to court and asked for the property to be transferred to his name.

The general guardian opposed the request and contacted the beneficiary of the will to get clarifications. The father does not get confused and presents a story according to which A was sitting in the hospital near him many years ago while he was waiting for the birth of his son. A conversation developed between them and since A. was a minor, she asked to name the son who was born after her father Eliyahu. The father agrees and calls his son Eliyahu. According to the story, A is invited to the alliance but instead a messenger arrives with a gold pendant as a gift and since then the relationship with her is severed. The executor of the will shows the locket to the representative of the guardian.

When Eliyahu reaches adulthood, a messenger knocks on the door of their house and delivers an envelope containing the deceased’s “will”. So far the story is perfect.

After an in-depth investigation carried out by the operations department of Focus Investigations, we discovered an essential detail: near Jerusalem we located the son of one of the “witnesses to the will”, who of course could not be questioned since they passed away long before the “will” was submitted to the court. The son said that his father would sometimes help the beneficiary of the will in the business he ran in the field of beer bottles.

The conclusions of the investigation revealed that the will was forged and the “witnesses” who signed the will were not even alive when it was written.

In 2007, an indictment was filed against the beneficiary of the forged will, later he was tried, convicted and sentenced to actual imprisonment.
